About Hangelton Mutual Aid keeping the community connected through every eventuality.

Who We Are

Mutual Aid Groups have been set up throughout the country to assist local communities at this time. Hangelton Mutual Aid is the Mutual Aid Group for the Hangleton & Knoll area and is made up of volunteers who want to make a difference in the community during the current pandemic.

The Hangleton helpers support local households across the community supporting the vulnerable, elderly and those in self isolation during the COVID-19 crisis. This is done by helping with tasks such as prescription collection, food shopping, dog walking, the central food hub as well as being a friendly voice on the phone when needed.

“The instruction from the Prime Minister to stay at home has left a number of very vulnerable people, such as the elderly, people with symptoms of the virus and people without cars fearing they would not be able to pick up medications, do essential shopping, or even have someone to talk to. We want to help one another and make sure that nobody is left isolated or feels that they have to go without essentials.

The group is working in partnership with a number of pharmacies, retailers and suppliers as well as Age UK, Brighton & Hove Food Partnership, Sussex Police, and the NHS to make this a reality and in so doing is providing vital support to every resident who needs assistance.

Residents in the Hangleton area who need help or people who would like to volunteer with the group should contact the team on 01273011949 or email us at team@hangletonmutualaid.org

A belief in helping our community to stay strong in a time of great difficulty, is the emphasis of the group.
